It's a Lion's Life - Edition Two

Posted on February 9, 2012

Ever had a day, week, month or LIFE where you’re pretty much scared of, well, EVERYTHING???  Welcome to MY life …

(By the by - Great role to have if you get stage fright (haha) no one knows the difference).

So, rehearsals are now underway -

We have Dorothy singing a song,

and Tinman strutting so strong,

a Scarecrow flip flopping,

a Monkey who’s hopping

and Winkies wink winking along.

There are Munchkins standing tall,

a Witch who’s taking a fall,

there are dancers a dancing,

costumes for prancing

and a LION who’s TERRIFIED OF IT ALL!!!

(Yep – not a poet I feel (haha). No harm in trying though, is there? Feedback welcomed). Honestly though, it’s good to be underway.  Every new show brings with it the fresh excitement of a new adventure!  A few weeks in now we’re all starting to embrace the feel of the production. Having had a little time over the past few weeks to mix with a few of the cast members I’ve realized I’m, once again, in the company of many very imaginative, talented people.  Some performers, some crew.

Anyhow, currently I’m trying to find my inner ROARER!!!  Need to develop some kind of primal, gutheral bellow from within. Anyone got any tips?!?  It’s been said of late that I have iron folds in my lungs.  It was a compliment, so it’s got to help in the long run – somehow - surely!

Watching Jesse over the weekend, bring to life, one of the best monkey portrayals I’ve seen in along time, makes me consider each individual character portrayal just a little more.  (Besides – it was simply hilarious!!!  That helps!).

Toto (aka – Frodo) made a nice entrance on the weekend as well.  It appears there’s only so many schmackos you can eat before you simply turn your nose up at THE MAN and lose interest. Haha

Next question - How many times do you think you need to fall over before you can do it properly? Any guesses? Mmmmmm, about to find out I feel – yet again!  Little things, but not easy.  (Where’s Ed when you need him?!?)

Anyhow, if you have the good fortune to come and see our production you’ll be treated to a wonderful display of Musical Theatre.  You’ll split your sides ROARING with laughter!

Lastly, before I go, could I ask a favour of you please?  Till I blog again in a fortnight, could I ask as you go about your day to day, that you find a Little Courage within.  Courage to care for each other.  Courage to foster friendship.  Courage to foster love amongst loved ones.  Courage to stand strong against the Wicked Witch in your life.  Courage to be Courageous!!!

As always, Thankyou JESUS for who you are and for Loving me.

Your Terrified – yet Maturing – LION xoxo
