Empire Youth Arts
Launched in 2010, Empire Youth Arts aims to enrich and empower the youth in our region through the performing arts. Term-based workshops are held throughout the year for youth as well as additional opportunities to develop their skills. Find out more about Empire Youth Arts.
Indigenous Dance Project
In 2011 the Empire Theatre established its inaugural Indigenous Dance Project, offering hip hop and contemporary dance workshops to youth in the Toowoomba region.
The workshops were facilitated by members of the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts in Brisbane and administered by the Empire Theatre Projects Company, which received Regional Stages funding from Arts Queensland for projects such as these.
Oakey Reconciliation Group, Whaddup, Rockville State Primary and Harristown State High Schools all participate in the workshops
Technical Tours
We also offer Technical Tours to students from Grade 4 onwards. These tours showcase our state of the art facilities and provide students with a practical insight into the workings of the Theatre.
These tours may be planned to suit your syllabus needs, from a brief familiarisation tour to more extensive technical training for senior students. Cost will be provided on application. Find out more about Empire Theatre Tours.
