Iconic Australian Artist, Graeme Connors, and his band are hitting the road and stopping in at the Empire Theatre for one special performance!
Recognised as one of Australia’s most eclectic country singer/songwriters, Graeme has received numerous awards during his 40 plus year career for his contribution to Country Music. Golden Guitars, ARIA, PPCA and APRA Awards line his shelves, with his most recent prestigious accolade, 2016 inductee into the Roll of Renown (Australia’s Country Music Hall of Fame).
During his highly-anticipated two-hour show, fans will enjoy the hits that made him a household name, a selection of favourites from his massive 19 album catalogue and special debut performances of songs from his upcoming 2018 album.
Connors’ new album, From The Backcountry, will be released in early August and follows his highly successful 2016 album, 60 Summers: The Ultimate Collection, which reached #1 on the ARIA Country Album Chart and saw the title track 60 Summers spend three weeks at #1 on The Music Network Official Country Airplay chart.
“I can’t wait to get back on the road with the band and connect with my fans, long-time and new, and introduce them to the songs I’ve been working on over the last few years,” Connors said.
The new album, recorded with multi-award winning Australian Producer Matt Fell at his Sydney studio, combines Graeme’s signature modern country sound with elements of rock, blues and roots.
“Country is who I am and always will be. I’m constantly trying to capture the Australian story in my music, and naturally I draw inspiration from regional communities,” Connors said. “The new album will enter new terrain. I’m growing with my fans and diversifying my sound,” he said.
